This. I don't think that the console/handheld market is dying. Were just seeing the numbers that 7th gen systems would have pulled off if the mainstream audience wasn't present. Basically, were going to see very similar numbers to the 6th gen unless some kind of revolutionnary accessory comes out (ala wii fit) and brings in once again that mainstream audience.
Predictions for LT console sales:
PS4: 120M
XB1: 70M
WiiU: 14M
3DS: 60M
Vita: 13M
