Its the gamepad... It has too many things on it... Theres a webcam, wii mote motion sensor built around the camera, IR blaster, NFC, headphone/headset jack, stereo speakers, accelerometer, gyroscope as well as that 0 latency receiver/sender thing, touchpad and controller functionality... You can kinda see why its so expensive, the gamepad does too much shit and people are not seeing the value of it since most of that is not necessary for most of the games
And on top of that, there is also the console itself and I bet its that 0 latency technology that they partnered with broadcom to make is costing a lot cause it really is amazing when you compare it to just wifi... When you take Nvidia shield with a wireless AC router with 1gbps+ vs the wiiU gamepad, the wiiU gamepad still has lower latency
