Status of 3DS in 2014. Nintendo dropping the ball again?

the ball was dropped long ago.

It is impossible to sustain one system let alone two on your own. They need to expand their studios. Or get 3rd parties onboard for at least the 3DS as Wii U is a lost cause which all have given up on already.
