Every since the ND January last year people have always freak out over this things. They expect to see new stuff every single time.

They did show new stuff, we even got a couple of localization announcements like Inazuma Eleven and the last Guild game. They just weren't the "new stuff" people wanted to see. In some peoples' minds, every Nintendo Direct at which Nintendo does NOT reveal a brand new "realistic-styled" Zelda, a brand new 3D Metroid game by Retro, a brand new Star Fox, AND a brand new F-Zero is the worst Nintendo Direct ever and proof that Nintendo doesn't know what they're doing.
People focus on dumb stuff like the few minutes they spent on that baseball game or Steel Diver and ignore all the awesome new footage for upcoming games they showed. Little Mac looks bananas, DK and Mario Kart look great, Kirby's gonna be fun, Yoshi looks bad but whatever, X makes my dick rock hard and Bayonetta's gonna be dope. Oh yeah, and they showed Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate for a second, which is rad. People are expecting entirely the wrong things. That was 40 minutes of solid entertainment for me and my friends.

I'm at a point where virtually ANY new , unannounced Wii U game would make my dick rock hard (somehow nes remix 2 is not enough).
All I wanted was to make sure that there will not be a drought for wii U like the on in 2013. first half of 2014 looks worse so far, as there is no lego city or monster hunter to help before mario kart comes.
And nintendo said they want to keep the momentum created by mario kart by other games. Can't see any. I bet the first thing after mario kart is sonic boom in october :D

Come now. DKC and Mario Kart will be far better than any game that came out for Wii U in the first half of 2013. Quality > quanity, right?
Oh and I wouldn't discount Shovel Knight or Child of Light just because they're eShop titiles...

I gotta say, I felt a mix of being proud and joy when I saw that mario kart trailer. really epic.
And judging by the number of koopalings my mind invented some sort of "good vs. evil" mode , partially story mode. I know that is not core of mario kart but that would be quite nice.
Shovel knight doesn't interest me much, but if that fairy in Child of Light can be controlled by the use of touchscreen then I'm in.
