As in lifetime, which means as long as the consoles are sold, more or less, I disagree with each comment that I have read so far.
If we look at the last generation each console could and should land on 90-110 million consoles sold each, about 100 million consoles average for each system, when the generation is de-facto over. And even if we would say that the generation is over now, or even last year, it would still be 80+80+100, 260 million consoles. Far more than anyone I have seen predicted back then.
When people predicted that generation it looked very much like your predictions now. Below 50 for one, above 50 for the other and around 100 or more for the last one. But everyone predicted, more or less 100 million consoles less sold.
So, when you guys now are predicting the same thing again, that this generation will sell 100+ millions less than the last one actually did, what are you basing this on?
Close to 300 million consoles has already been sold for the last generation, and everyone predicted less than 200. And now it's the same story all over again.
I will predict 150 million PS4, 100 million X1 and 50 million Wii U. Even if I am wrong with the actual consoles I feel very confident that around 300 million consoles will be sold in total.
The only thing pointing to a lower total sales for consoles are rumors, the same rumors we hear each generation and it always turns out to be wrong.
