Not if it is the audience that chooses to play the bad ports even though there are superior versions out there. You can't blame the company for the bad decisions its audience makes with their products.
Don't buy it if it is bad. That's the win-win for both company and audience because first will learn from it and the latter will not have to play rubbish.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
