That's because apparently for films, the whole range from 0 to 100 is used, whereas for games the range is more like 40-100 in practice. You could try putting the reviews of all games in a single chart and there would probably be a peak in the range of 70 to 80, whereas for movies the peak would be lower. I'm saying 'probably' because I don't have any actual research to back up my claim but that just seems to be the way it goes. One big reason is probably that movies are often rated from 0 or 1 stars to 5 stars and a direct conversion gives relatively low results compared to what we're used to with games. Personally I think the game review scale is competely broken when about 60% of the scale is unused most of the time and only 20% are generally games worth getting, and even those not necessarily.
