Yeah... this will be awesome. They can use the GPGPU to do AI and things that you laugh at Xbox One doing in the cloud. It's suddenly awesome when it drags down the overall power of the console. It's pathetic when it'll be piped in from the internet.
Are people going to start saying 'Teh power of da GPGPU?' in everything all the time?
I know I sound whiny, but this is the same exact thing X1 is getting mocked for. The massive amount of cloud compute servers aren't implemented into X1 games yet, but they will be. This GPGPU tech isn't implemented into PS4 games yet, but it will be. Cloud Compute can handle physics and AI and open world stuff. GPGPU can handle physics and AI and open world stuff.
Neither is in any games yet, both definitely will be in a couple years. But apparently the X1's cloud compute is ridiculous and a joke (after all, Microsoft only has hundreds of thousands of servers already online!) and PS4's future use of its already existing circuitry is apparently the coolest effing thing ever holy crap!
Kind of silly.
