While clearly the PS4/XBox1 released foolishly rushed 1st party games with their systems, the exception isn't the rule.  The hype bandwagon follows 1st party titles for a reason, one that's been proven many times: 1st party games GENERALLY (yes, I added this word for you!) are expected and are GENERALLY of higher quality.  No one can deny this, despite some of the biggest 1st party flops being of the 8th generation console launches (W101 is not a first party game btw, it's a third party exclusive, developed by Platinum Games, a third party studio).  It doesn't make all 3rd party games bad, but it seems that multi-platform development adds time/cost that doesn't always favor polish.

W101 is a first party game.  Nintendo owns the IP.  Some people call this "second-party", though there is technically no such thing.

As for the rest, you're just adding "everybody knows" to your opinions and treating them as facts.  Personally, most of my favorite games have been third-party, so I'm going to disagree.
