I didn't get it as a surprise. I did say it all along. They don't release games, because they don't expect big sales. May the sales big enough for profit? That should be easy, especially porting from PS3/X360. But still that are resources you have to put on that project, and the same people could on more profitable things. That doesn't mean 3rd-parties get a free pass. To have a userbase, you ave to try to cultivate them. Big Monster Hunter sales didn't came out of nothing - Capcom worked many years to achieve that. Many multiplat-game-makers trained the buyers to get their games on other platforms than on Nintendo platforms. We see that was successful now. That perception may differ for different genres though. Rayman Legends sold mediocre over all platforms, but still at WiiU at the same level than on PS3/X360 despite the much smaller userbase. That's the result of NIntendo already establishing the WiiU as a platform for platformers. Knack doesn't really change the perception. And as you try to paint the picture, that the 'Nintendo fans don't get it' (including the unsaid but hinted 'stupid' before Nintendo fans) - that's similarly true for these Sony fans. Just recently I saw a thread asking where the big franchises are on Vita. Well, duh. Let's think .... |
Fair enough. I dont think MH is a good example, im talking strictly home consoles. and that series hasnt exactly set the Wii or WII U sales on fire either. So yeah, matter of fact those are just uprezzed 3ds games anyway that isnt even utilzing the WII U power wise. We are talking GTA that alwasys pushes the system so no it isnt comparable to MH, WIi u version is a cheap port by comparison. And they have been trying and failing. Ubi has been trying and failing, so should they keep trying and failing and hope it will turn around?
You're comparing Rayman to Knack? One is an established franchise that gets rave reviews. the other is a new IP on a system that just released. Not a great comparison. and LBP does much better than Rayman sales wise nowadays. and Legends still sold best on PS3 despite going against GTA5.
As for Vita...nobody complains about Vita, you rarely see any Vita threads, becasue WE get it. We know its doing bad so we dont expect much support. Its the daily Wii U threads that i see that says 3rd party this or Wii U needs that.
