Is the lack of Nintendo Direct a bad sign?

really?  the best way?  I bet if I went up to and asked 20 wii u or 3ds owners what a nintendo direct is, maybe one of them would know and the rest wouldn't.  Nintendo would probably have better luck using more traditional game media, but nintendo has never liked releasing any kind of control of their message.  Which is part of the problem with nintendo.  They are way too controlling with information.  

What does other company do to get attention when they want to reveal a new game, release a new trailer or announce a launch date? They use websites like IGN right? Well I got news for you, after a ND, IGN ends up talking about what has been announced and post the trailers so that the ppl who are not watching can still learn what's going on. I know it sounds crazy, but if Nintendo announced the launch date of Smash tomorow at a ND, or revealed a new trailer, all of us including you will end up knowing about it cause ppl will talk about it on this forum, on IGN and other gaming blog, the same exact way ppl whould learn about any other game.

Back on topic. Nintendo needs to understand that the longer they take to give us this ND, the higher the expectation are going to be. I look at the future and I see nothing for both my 3DS and WiiU after DK. Only MK that does'nt even have a launch date, they need to launch Bayonetta between DK and MK or something else. Complete silence in front of this barren will only convince ppl to go somewhere else. Their's a limit on how long ppl are willing to wait on games with speculative launch date.

With your logic, all the "SO CALLED " media couverage should intale translate into sales. BUT IT HAS NOT......So please tell, what exactly does these Directs do ?

So the Directs are to blame for the WiiU's shortcoming? Your logic has no sense. Sonic Lost World bombed because it was anounced via ND so obviously Sonic Boom will do 100times better? And no games announced at E3 ever bombed right? Thank the lord their is no Playstation Directs otherwise all those exclusived that bombed would have done so far worst obviously...

And let's not forget the fact that LoZ:ALBW and Pokémon has been announced via ND, and that Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing's locolisation has been anounced via ND... Those games sales were sooo bad because of that.

Oh, and no one is excited for X obviously... And obviously Bayonetta2 will do sooooo much better solely because it was not announced via a Direct but via a press conference.

Enough sarcasm, my logic is'nt flawed, your's is. You are blaming NDs for nintendo's shortcomings while they clearly have nothing to do with it. 3DS games have been announced via ND and they are doing great. And everyone knows about MK8, Smash and X, they all saw the trailers on IGN or w/v and if they had a exclusive reveal on some websites or a press conference it would'nt have raised awareness at all, it would have changed awareness for litteraly not one single human being.
