Also the idea of breathing smoke in to my body just seems stupid.

 Then you are indeed a smart one. While I have had no negative issues thus far I would agree that staying away from smoking and/or drinking is indeed the best choice.

Although if you ever did want to try it, I think you should be completely entitled to.
