PS3 is at 3.6 right? PS4 was 4.2 and they both added up to 7.8.

From what we know PS4's were getting sold as soon as they arrived at retailers. I believe we just recently have started seeing people who have finally been able to see a bit more PS4s

From what we know, PS4 has been getting sold out as fast as they came so i dont think there would be hundreds of thousands of PS4s out in the wild

But who knows..

Edit: that 7.8 mill is just from december or all they up until now?

The sold out claim is based most in anedoctal evidences in few important markets ex: USA, UK, Germany.

Other parts of the world we have little to no information. I was hoping Sony financial report would enlight us with more details.

PS: In the anedoctal bases I can tell you that the PS4 never went sold out in Brazil, even if very limited supply. After the first two weeks of december it was pretty easy to find a PS4 at the "gray market" here.
