PS3 wasn't truly more expensive, the standard version cost $500, same as the Xbox One, the initial $600 premium model was discontinued due to poor sales so you know most of the sales came from the $500 version. And though the PS3 released in less countries, the total size of the gaming markets are comparable.

You cant really do a direct comparison here. The PS3 was $500 and $600 over 7 years ago o.O

So yeah i think lawlight is actually correct in saying that the PS3 was more expensive. I think if you do the calculations you will find that the PS3 was actually significantly more expensive than the X1 given the time period it released.

Edit: I might be wrong but i think i have a general idea on how economics works XD
