Are people really looking to pay lets say 8 bucks a month to re-live PS1/PS2 games. If so for how long would you be willing to pay. At best I would see people willing to pay for about 3 to 4 months then after that drop the service because they have relived their past and paying 8 bucks and not use the server starts to feel bad. |
They are using Killzone 3 in the demo. 2 years ago is still late last gen games. I always thought the cloud would be initially a service that allowed backwards compatibility with last gen.The Library should be gigantic and offer PS exclusive content that many non-PS3 owners and others missed. It is a great service I think for a lot of people.
I cannot say how big it will be. The gaming habits of millions of people vary a lot. Not even close to every gamer is in the know of all the newest games and when, or what comes out. I think like netfix it should offer a service for people to play things after the fact. I really think there is a big market for this. Pachter just phrases things to get a reaction. And, It does not make any sense to me to put most new content on the service. I still think it can be profitable and that is a big thing. Not a monsterous hit, but profitable.
