Not the case here, I'm afraid. HP is quite common around here. Majority share, I'd say.

HP machines are notorious for being stuffed with bloat ware, having silly non fixable parts and unhelpful priority hardware.  The only reason they succeded (IMO) was because they used to sell so many to business.

I fixed a couple of HP computers and laptops for friend’s last year.  I couldn’t recommend  anyone ever get a HP, even before all the troubles they are in now and the nutter, Whitman* that is running it into the ground.

*Whitman cost Ebay 2 Billion dollars on Skype alone and was fired form Ebay with a bunch of lawsuits.

 

Won't argue about bad reliablity with HP (fact), I'm just saying that they're selling quite, quite well. Mainly because the hardware you get (if it works) is much more powerful than what most other manufacturers give you (for the money). Even manufacturers like Acer or Asus... like I said, at least here, in Israel. I have an Acer lappy myself, 3+ years of ownership, still going strong.
