handhelds are doing terrible though I'm not sure if the overlap for them is the same as the home consoles considering the platform totals totals.
ps4 to the wii (sytems selling the most of the 2 without a year head start) is a large drop but ps4 is missing Japan so it's not as terrible and the ps4 total is still higher than the wii in the same time frame.
wii u vs 360 (systems with the year head start) wii u is doing way less than the 360 it's less than half for the week and several million behind the total.
xbox one vs ps3 (system selling the less of the 2 without the head start) a difference of what 1,500? and it's also what double the total sales? yes ps3 didnt yet have europe but xbox one is missing many markets.

Okay
2007 Nintendo - 631,814 with 2 consoles
2014 Nintendo - 191,141 with 3 consoles
2007 Microsoft - 113,045 with 1 console
2014 Microsoft - 111,132 with 2 consoles
2007 Sony - 236,428 with 2 consoles
2014 Sony - 282,529 with 4 consoles
2014 still looks like crap to me.

things aren't looking great with the collapes of the hand held market for sure. With the drops from the psp and ds to vita and 3ds the market will be down by tens of millions a year every year for the enxt few years.
The wii u is also doing terrible and will also bring down the totals.
The ps4 and xbox one though are going to be up, but those two being up might not even ofset the drops from the wii to wii u. I don't think anyone can reasonably expext them to ofset the drops in the handheld market as well.
and this year might be up over last year. while we have had total sales down year over year since 2008 or 2009 if I recall coreectly.
