Sorry but no matter how you butter the bread, sales will always have a notable impact on software support, even from third party.
Xbox one may well compete with ps4 in america, hell it may even beat it someday, but alas america alone isn't as important as a global total, no matter how many Americans would like to think otherwise.
If you think total sales of each will stay within 4 million of each other, or that developers and publishers won't mostly go to where the majority of buyers are, you're in for a bad time.
