Well, until we know for sure what their output is, rumors don't mean much to me.  That having been said, I've no idea what the Asian preorder numbers are like either.  Think how warmly they've received other home grown hardware in the past, and who knows this could be a fairly massive Asian launch for Sony.

Also, I doubt that the initial run of PS4's had any stock dedicated to the Asian launch, given how hard it's been for some to find the console on shelves in places they HAVE launched.  So it's likely that whatever they are reserving for the Asian launch, has been from what's been manufactured since launch.  Or do you think that's unlikely?

I'm not really sure how it works but I'd be very suprised if they kept PS4 units from selling over the holiday just so they could keep them for the Asian laucnh. What seems more likely to me is that they've started to save units from about this week of sales and onwards. They must be saving at least 50k per week that they produce, if not over 100k because Japan launch will be big. I guess we'll see their full production/sales once the PS4 has launched in all major areas. I think it will be at least 250k per week.

I wish we had some Preorder numbers from Japan, if the first batch offered via preorder sold out in 'a few minutes' (According to Hiroshi Kawano) are to be believed, how many were offered?  What kind of preorder stats have they seen since that first batch (Presumably they've added more bundles/consoles to it since the first 'batch'.)...  So little information to really draw a serious conclusion from.

And yeah, reserving consoles for the Asian release, from their initial runs of PS4's seems woefully daft.  So yeah I figure a percentage of weekly runs is reserved for the Asian launch.
