you haven't heard scratching until you've played quack shot, and slid on the ground. Or mash so many buttons in sonic while doing spindash that the sound completely mutes for a few frames.
personally, I've nohing against the NES, or SNES, which cannot be said about every other console nintendo released. I just didn't own them when I was little, but perhaps one day, I will revisit SNES. Wont be before I get every game on my genesis list.
No one can argue tha genesis is more powerful. its just not correct. you can have a preference, though. Even me, who owns 0 SNES games and will own 100+ genesis games.
