NAT is NAT... the numbers PS3 uses to says the status of your connection. NAT-1 = Direct Access to internet (no router)... no issue. Just that. He are saying that even his router blocking the PS3 to access the internet the PlayStation Now worked fine... to be fair the PS Now didn't need opened ports at all because you will only receive the stream video from server and send command inputs... so it is not like a MP game you need other guy to connect in your console to works... so he can have issues with MP in his PS3 in NAT-3 but I don't see issue with PS Now that works like Netflix for example. The Remote feature on PS4 didn't works in NAT-3... my Smartphone can't control it when it have the NAT-3 status. |
So NAT-1 is not NAT at all ;) Or do you mean DMZ? And even this is not NAT...
NAT-2 is no issue?! By default all ports are blocked on a NAT-Router from WAN-side, so no translation from outside to inside ports (intended ports, that is). This should be the default config (unless it also does UPnP...).
NAT-3? This is the default - of course ports are blocked by default, one has to manually configure them, if the service tells you which you should open.
