I think they both may have to:

-Nintendo needs to utilise it's success in the handheld arena to buoy up it's flagging console business
-Sony needs to use their successful console to save their dying handheld

In fact, we can already see Sony moving towards this in the way that you can use the Vita in a similar way to the Gamepad.

I think Nintendo will beat Sony to the punch however, but mainly because I think the Wii U's successor will be out much earlier than the PS5.

I agree Nintendo will/would release its fusion console sooner, but most likely only by a year or so. Largely based on the fact that the 3DS and Wii-U both released a year before Sony's consoles.

Windows Tablets + Phones + PC + Xbox

In the same box?

Possibly, Xbox Windows

From the perspective of Microsoft wanting to use the Xbox-Nega (as I'm calling it, though Xbox Loop would also be witty of them) as a tool to integrate themselves with all aspects of a consumer's life that makes sense, though finanicially it may be another story... still if they could get Xbox Live to cover phonebills as well...
