You are too young on the site to know this but in the hype train for brawl I was the one to use the official art for Lucario so is logical I use it now and Lucario is the most popular pokemon outside of Pikachu

Thats cool lol! Also disagree. Being realistic the most popular pokemon after pikachu are Charizard/Mewtwo then Either Blastoise or Jigglypuff. After that than its lucario. Even if lucario is more popular than Blastoise/jigglypuff there is no way in hell its more than mewtwo+charizard. Srry my friend

what makes them more popular? the fact that all of them are from the first gen?

You dont necessarily have to be fro gen 1 (*cough Lucario cough cough), but its obvious Charizard and Mewtwo are the most popular. 1 they both have not 1 but 2 mega evolutions each o.O... Why? Cuz they are fan favorites, no sense in not giving 2 to Venasaur or Blastoise if it wasnt the case.

But seriously they are the most popular, from anime/movie, promotions, original pokemon, etc.
