Sounds like a valid excuse. I think everybody was expecting a rather large spike around/just after the Halo 3 release, but instead it was an incremental increase week after week that built up in Nov. and then even more so in Dec. Things do seem to be somewhat better now, so March should still be pretty good for the 360 in NA.
The 360 is selling better than it was at this same time last year, which is always a good thing!
