I had heard the opposite, that the Wii U version was running on the same engine as the 4-One version (just downscaled).

Anyway, the game is on PS3 and 360, so that is categorically impossible.

Not so impossible, we heard from many develops that developping on Wii U was not an easy task and a loss of time, and developpers are well used to PS3 and 360 now, not the same thing.

Its on record, a Ubisoft dev saying the Wii U version runs and looks better than the PS360 versions.
