That's hardly fair criticism. I've bought multiformat games on wii u and they are mainly weak. Looking at the eurogamer faceoffs it shows the majority of the time wii u versions are weaker than 360 and PS3. I also have 360, PS3 and PC. The only potential the wii u has is that one of the best developers in the world exclusively develops home console games for it. So if you want those games you need there console. I'd be mad to buy something like black ops 2 on wii u (although I've done this due to heavy discounting) when the 360 version has a far superior frame rate so plays better especially as the controller is more suited to fps action. I bought Need for speed most wanted on wii u despite already having it on ps3. I went back to the ps3 version as I prefered playing it with the ps3 controller with analogue triggers. I love Sonic Racing transformed and bought it for wii u when I bought my wii u at launch. It plays well but the resolution is only 1024x576 which is close to standard definition (720x576) where as the ps3 version runs at a full 720p resolution. This resolution difference is really noticable on a projector.
In many ways I think the wii u is great and love the whole feel of the console and the operation system but when you see how it performs its quite depressing. Technically the 360 and PS3 have been far more impressive. Nintendo have totally compromised the wii u design and quite honestly they really deserve the kicking consumers are giving them. As a wii u owner I can't really recommend the console unless you love Nintendo games. It's a truly awful choice if you want decent versions of multi-format games. This was known at the beginning when the console was pulled apart and we could see the utter cheapness of its design using low cost low bandwidth memory, a very low end modern gpu and the same weak cpu architecture that has been used in wii and gamecube before. It is absolutely no surprise such shit hardware struggles to even match even the ancient 360 and PS3. There is no point to the thing except for its own exclusive games. Any multiformat game will be better elsewhere.
This is a self-inflicted injury that Nintendo did to themselves. No one else is to blame.
