I wouldn't go that far. We've gotten fan-requested characters before. Ike, Sonic, Megaman, Wario, Lucario (announced today), and more were wanted by fans and they were put in.
We'll never get all the characters we want, but I would be very surprised if at least three or four characters from that list didn't make it into the game.
Remember, we only have four new characters in Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, Rosalina, and Megaman. There's plenty of opportunity for a new character to come.
In case you didn't know, I have a comic book called Guardians. I'm the writer/creator of it, and we have four issues out right now, with our fifth coming out soon!
