The ps3 did have a pice drop, but it wasn't that much. I agree, it helped, but that's not the sole reason for the ps3's upswing IMO.
Early 2007:
60 GB: $600
20 GB: $500
(20 GB was soon to be discontinued)
Early 2008:
80 GB: $500
40 GB: $400
In my opinion, I don't think a $100 price drop is the only reason for a 200% increase in ps3 sales. Maybe I'm wrong, but I just think there is much more to the increase in ps3 sales than the price drop in 07.
