Nowhere in there does it say EA thought Xbox One would sell more.

They could have thought the two would be exactly where they are right now and that the money sent by MS would offset any potential losses incurred by skipping the $ony platforms.

They could have thought the PS4 would be 3 million ahead by now for all we know. The value that matters 99.9% in this equation is how much MS paid them, and we don't know that one.

I agree pretty much with this statement.  It makes more sense to believe that EA was looking for an exclusive partner and they needed to forcast how much to sell that agreement.

Yeah I never even considered that while we have people going on about M$ moneyhats and all, it could have actually been EA/Respawn going to both companies looking for the best solution. That is, after all, exactly what Respawn said they did. And then they could have looked over their projections for the consoles and saw it was viable to release it on MS platforms. Doesn't mean they expected the Xbox One to outsell the PS4.
