You can't sue in Europe? Tell that to Bayer. They're suing the whole damn European Union last I knew, just because they banned a pesticide believed to be threatening bees with extinction. US does have a more unhealthy obsession with suing though, to be sure.

You can sue people in Europe but not simply on the grounds that your neighbour played music you don't like or that someone farted in the fruit section when you went shopping. It is ridiculously easy to file for a lawsuit in the US, most of the ludicrous cases get tossed for sure but the fact that they paperwork can even be issued is detrimental to any modern justice system and it takes time and resources away from actual cases that merit actual work. Like people who falsely accuse someone of rape and start the whole circus; the courts should not be an easily accessible arena for personal drama or childish impulse or the perpetual and powerful yearning for quick cash.
