Hard to tell, but we'll never know since it's impossible to do that now anyway. Developers were at their most open toward the Vita before the launch when it might have turned out to be a success and they still didn't get on board, so they're certainly not going to come running now that it is definitely a failure.

But just because the Wii U is failing doesn't mean there isn't a market for home consoles, and I don't think I'd draw any conclusions about the handheld market from the Vita's performance. It is simply a poorly handled product... or a barely handled product, in SCEA's case.
