Should I get into World of Warcraft

Fast-forward 10 years later

A few months ago my brother was at my house praising the merits of all the things he learned while playing high-level aspects of world of warcraft, and all the leadership and team-playing skills he developed through the game, and how epic the game gets at high levels. Note: he also stopped playing video games when he got engaged about 5 years ago.

The past few years was a time for me to get back in touch with video games.

The question I have for you is, I am tempted to try it out, and I was wondering:

• Is it too late
• Is it too addictive and a bad idea
• Is the game as interesting today or has the epicness faded
• am I missing anything.

"All the things he learned" It's called retrospective reasoning. He knows he wasted his life on a useless game, he doesn't want to regret it so much so he makes up his mind in the positive aspects of this experience. Like saying abusing drugs was finally a good thing because you saw the real stuff of real life and learned a lot. Also note that your brother stopped playing this game (any game apparently) now. Like when you stop smoking or using drugs, you wouldn't want to do it anymore.

"Is it too addictive and a bad idea" Exactly that. Don't waste years of your precious live grinding hundreds (or more) of hours on this addictive game.

Thanks for this. So far I have been killing a few enemies and harvesting and it does seem really pointless. Also I recently read about this massive economic disaster in a game called Eve Online. All those hours gathering resources just blown to smitherines.

I will try to see how my pace is, so far I jumped 2 more levels in 3 hours, it's not too bad. If it starts taking me 10 hours to level up you're sure I'll quit.

What level are you at currently? i know as a starter it can be pretty intimidating, see if you can join a leveling guild those offer some miner xp perks and other benefits
