Nintendo will license their characters out for more then just video games.

The premise is actually older than feudalism. It dates back to Greek Mythology and the Bible.

 

OT - Yeah, it always struck me as odd to think Nintendo hasn't given more thought to a theme park, animated movies, cartoons etc. They could basically be the Disney from the Far East and never really dared to claim the position.
