Exactly what I think as well.  Sleeker design (maybe with a matte finish), better buttons, brighter screen and improved battery life.

You're not talking about the DS Lite then.  I haven't used the DSi, but the DS Lite had a very bad control pad.  Super flimsy.  Made me glad I kept my fat DS.
