For all the horrible decisions and poor support the WiiU received, the 3DS got amazing games and great strategies. I simply can't fathom why it is selling so poorly at this point.

I am afraid it is reaching a sudden market saturation. Also, it is probably cliche at this point to blame third parties for Nintendo's recent failures, but the fact Japanese developers are abandoning the 3DS is unbelievable.

I think 3DS sales were very frontloaded tbh, what with the big price cut. It shipped less last year in 2013, than it did in 2011 and 2012. Unless sales are up 15% YOY WW then it's peaked in its second year (and barely at that). Very bizzare.
