They have sold about an equal amount of hardware. I don't think the year ahead excuse is worth anything.

Like I said, Americans buy more games and Xbox sold significantly better in America. That gave them a software sales edge.

I hate to break it to you but the Japanese don't care about Sony's games. They buy consoles for 3rd party games.

They are even in the US? Thats the point. Not so this gen where ps4 has already sold more software.

Japan doesn't care for sony game they don't care abotu xbox at all why bring up a strawman argument that has zero to do with anything?

I'm explaining why the 360 had a software sales edge. It did better in a region that buys more software.

I brought up Japan because that's not a software sales edge. They buy the least amount of games compared to American and Europe. Japan gets a lot of attention but its not the most desired market. Western markets are what Sony and MS want, they have higher attach rates.

Your argument is all over the place, first you bring up 360 sold mroe software as a way to make it seem like 360 had better games. Then you admit 360 had near double install base in the US.  Your going to sell more when you have near double the install base, has zero to do with quality.

LAst gen is last gen, that's not happening this time so it is now irrrelevant.
