1. Hype isn't as strong as it was at launch, sure, but that doesn't mean that the console doesn't have strong ongoing momentum. 2. And being the next Playstation is enough for it to keep selling for large parts of this year. People are just tired of last gen, so they don't need that one killer exclusive to make the switch to the PS4, many of the cross gen titles coming this year will be enough to make people buy a new console. At the end of the year and definitely next year Sony will have to start putting out their big exclusive games though. 3. Agreed 4. No, I didn't know that and I would appreciate it if you could further explain that point, what free marketing are you talking about? Also I might be a bit too optimistic but I can't shake the feeling that you're a bit too pessimistic because of the whole Wii U situation ;) |
1) Unfortunately, that's not how it works in the real world. For an entertainment medium to continue to sell, it has to provide a service that... Well... Entertains. Without that service, the product dies. Don't you agree?
2) Sorry, it's not enough. The PS3 ought to be the biggest example. Sony sold the PS3 thinking that because it's was the "next Playstation" that people would just buy it without games. Look how that turned out.
3) :D
4) I posted multiple urls. You should go back a few pages and check them out.
