What's surprising about his comment? I do think a Gears 4 would sell well, but i really can't see it making the same impact the original trilogy did. The prequel games for both God of War and Gears of War were released at about the same time and received about the same reviews, yet even under those nearly identical circumstances gears was still beaten by a smaller series. That quite obviously shows a decrease it's people interest for the series.
