This is a list of games or game concepts that I am almost unnaturally sure we will see this year. I've seen a lot of threads talking about games that have been confirmed, but not really any that discuss games that, while not being confirmed or even announced yet, seem pretty obvious to me. Obviously I won't mention a game that was explicitely said will be released in 2014, so no Yarn Yoshi's and the like. Also, the games will also have a logic to them. This isn't a list of games I want to see this year, but rather games that seem almost undeniably obvious will. No, you won't see Zelda Wii U or Metroid Wii U or Star Fox Wii U, because there is literally no good reasons to believe that any of these games are coming at this point. That isn't to say that they won't and I do genuinely believe that we will see at least one of these games this year maybe, but there isn't some compelling reason to believe any one of these games specifially will come out this year specifically. Let's begin.

1. Majora's Mask 3DS.

On top of all of the shamefully obvious hints and nods towards the existance of this game, Eiji Aonuma has specifically spoken with Miyomoto about bringing this bizzare sequel to the 3DS. In a 2011 interview, he said that Nintendo were "seriously considering" the felt it wouldn't be right releasing another remake directly after Ocarina of Time 3D. In this interview, he also confirmed that they had been working on a new 3DS Zelda title as a sort of "in between." That game later turned out to be last year's wonderful A Link Between Worlds. Littered with Majora's Mask references, it's obvious that this in between is over and the next 3DS Zelda title will be none other than Majora's Mask 3D.

I think it begs mentioning that I'm positive this game won't be coming to the Wii U instead. Aside from the fact that it completely breaks up sequel continuity between consoles, Aonuma was quite clear in stating that the, then potencial, Majora's Mask remake would be done on the 3DS. Also, releasing Majora's Mask in HD on the Wii U completely goes against the philosophy he used in sepatating the 3DS remakes with a new title. Why would he say that he didn't want to release two 3DS remakes in a row, and then release two Wii U remakes in a row? And release Hyrule Warriors? (Plus, I have a suspicion that the next Wii U Zelda remake (after the new Zelda) will be of Twilight Princess, but that's another thread...)

Majora's Mask. 3DS. End of this year. Get pumped.

2. Metroid Dread for 3DS

By that, that I really mean to say is "New original 2D Metroid game for the 3DS. Whoo."

The reason I use the title "Metroid Dread" is less because I actually think the game will be called that, and more because the concept of the game is so familiar to Nintendo fans. Metroid Dread was a long rumored 2D Metroid game planned for the original DS, but was eventually cancelled. The script for the game is apparently complete, but no further information is known.

Let me be clear; this is not the reason I think that a new Metroid the 3DS. I honestly am not very sure I really even think that the new Metroid 3DS will be a pick up on this project. The reason why I think that we will be getting a Metroid game, that it will be released this year, and that this game will be released for the 3DS and not the Wii U is simple: What else is there to release, what franchises are missing on the 3DS, and when was te last time there has been a 2D Metroid game? Think about just how many Nintendo franchises have already been covered on the 3DS in what? 3 years? Metroid is the first obvious hole in the library. Yeah, I know that we don't have an F-Zero on it and yaddah yaddah, and I'm not saying that we may not see a 3DS iteration, even in 2014. I'm saying that we definitely will see this one this year.

Made possibly by Intelligent Systems, I think we will definitely see this game come to life this year and I think it will be a 2D Metroid.

3. The new 3D Mario game for Wii U (NOT Super Mario Galaxy 3)

I'm really surprised at how this doesn't seem blatantly obvious to anyone else. As soon as I realised what Super Mario 3D World was, I immediately knew that the "true" 3D Mario would be released in the holidays of 2014. I also think that anyone who thinks that this will be a direct sequel to Super Mario Galaxy 2 is kind of out of it, but that's neither here nor there. Nintendo always released their flagship Mario withing the first years of their console's life and, quite frankly, Super Mario 3D World is not their flagship Mario.

There will be a reveal either in this upcoming Nintendo Direct or, more likely, at E3. They'll think they've surprised us and that we didn't expect it and they'll give us the Holiday 2014 release date and I'll just be sipping my coffee with my "I told you so" mug.

4. 3rd Sonic Exlusive.

Not much to say here. I think we'll see it, whatever "it" is, this holiday just like Lost World. It's just the way Sega released the "three game deal."

Those are my thoughts. Thoughts on my thoughts?
