As long as they don't drop their console and handheld support I honestly don't care. They will keep the "casual" gamers happy with Mario 3D Crush and the "hardcore" gamers will be happy with full console and/or handheld games. Of course, Nintendo's marketing has to be very important here, because you don't want ALL users to go with the iOS/Android game.
If they start dropping support on the Wii U and 3DS then people (myself included) will be pissed. However, if they are very successful with this approach, they will probably keep both smartphone and console games.
But we are probably getting ahead of ourselves, this could be completely wrong.
