Gears ended. There's no point on going forward considering how things ended up in Gears 3. It wouldn't even make sense to create a new war considering only a few COG and stranded people are alive at that point, and the rest of the planet is pretty much dead. Judgment tried to capitalize on the E-Day and it failed. There's no point in keeping this series - for now - alive. It should be dormant. |
You are not catching my point. I am not comparing how good the games are or if they are sequels or not. I am stating that new games with their name are in the same Universe. I am saying that a new game does not have to use any of the same characters or even mechanics but instead stay within the Universe. This keeps the games from going stale if they continue to do the same thing over and over again like a COD or even Battlefield sequel.
As for a new Gears game, who said it had to be a new war with the same enemies or using the same characters. Its MS IP now, they can go any direction they want and if they smart they will take the game to a new direction but keep the popular mechanics and modes people liked.
