I feel like everyone who's completely opposed to the ideas in this article didn't really read it. It all makes perfect sense. Last generation Nintendo was innovating, bringing new ideas to old franchises. Right now every huge first-party game is an extremely safe sequel that doesn't have any sort of new wow factor. Solid and fun, but not an advancement. He's saying that a lot of the problem isn't so much the business practice as it is the games, and I think that's largely true.
