They never said press conference, they said press event, and it was just that. This was the game they said they were going to announce.

The problem with episodic format is the fact that once all episodes are out, the price is actually cheper for who got late. And, if the first episodes don't make the cut, they can simply cancel the enxt episodes, or change the gameplay to attract more audience. Its the same problem than series. One season poor handled can ruin the entire show.

Most games get price drops after a while, and your next bit is assumptions and what ifs that also isn't restricted to episodic games (Jak n Daxter come to mind), and wont necessarily be the case with this game.
