X, Hyrule Warriors, and Yarn Yoshi aren't doing much. Probably not DKC either. NSMBU and Mario 3D World are bigger than all those. X will likely be lucky to sell as well as Pikmin 3.

It's basically all on Mario Kart to salvage this, if it can't do it, nothing can.

It's interesting you would even try to say this, considering the fact that, with very little to go on, there was already a lot of buzz from even many "non-Nintendo" gamers over X, because of the good word of mouth that Xenoblade has. Just that pre-alpha trailer was enough to get many excited, and guaranteed, when we see the next, more finished X trailer, it will unquestionably look far better. Monolith Soft already carved out a rep for themselves as being one of the best rpg makers before they became Nintendo-exclusive, and X is just the next step in that evolution.

Also, NSMBU's attach rate is still pretty stellar, and while it wasn't a "mega-ton hit", 3D World has also sold really well and it did help boost sales. However, people's enthusiasm over MK8 and Smash Bros., as well as seeing what the next true HD Zelda looks like, is far higher than 3D World ever could have mustered. The pre-order figures for DKCR2 are also higher, and I think it will help start 2014 off nicely for Wii U. It is on Nintendo to get other releases out in a timely and steady fashion to build up and sustain momentum going forward.
