Actually it's been hacked since december to be able to support the latest firmware.

It's strange how the only effort nintendo put to seriously stop piracy was the DSi since hackers still haven't been able to crack DSi mode yet and here we are 3 years later and we'll be able to play every 3DS ROM with the latest firmware supported. 

I guess it's a gift that I am very in touch with the hacking and PC community. :;P
