this is, imo, a slight variant of sony's strategy to create companion apps for their releases.
...now you could choose to believe that knack IOs is why the ps4 is selling so well. i choose to disagree. i don't believe IOs gamers are on IOs because of a lack of awareness of dedicated games consoles/handhelds. I believe they are on IOs because they prefer IOs.
but, so long as the mobile apps are, on their own, profitable. it couldn't hurt.
