FatedReality said: The Last of Us because it was very ambiguous which i liked becuase it let you draw your own conclusion of what happened next ( which was the theme of the game). Bioshock Infinite had a good ending but it threw to much information at you in a such a a short amount of time that I got confused on what actually happened. I had to play through it twice to completely understand what had actually happened at the end. So for me the game with the better ending was the Last of Us. |
That sums it up best. I replayed the last of us to see more of the intracacies of the characters and to see if I would come to a different conclusion at the end of the story. I started another playthrough of Bioshock infinite because it left me confused with the whole story basically crammed into one long cutscene. However I got fed up with terrible story pacing and gave up on it. Thanks to this thread I now know the Lutece twins are the same person, still doesn't help much.

I quite enjoyed wrapping my head around Bioshock Infinite's ending.
The morality of Joel's decision was interesting, and had me thinking after the game was finished, but nowhere near as long as Inifinite did.
I'm not sure how you don't pick up on the Lutece twins' identities though, there were plenty of auido logs and tears.

I missed most of the audio logs (I guess I missed even more optional tears?) Characters speaking over audio logs / action continueing didn't help either, it's a terrible way to convey information crucial to the plot. (didn't like it in tlou either, but there were less and I guess I had more luck stumbling onto them with less interruptions)
The big difference between the two endings for me is that Joel and Ellie are central to tlou's ending, but Booker and Elizabeth are merely pawns at BI's ending. As a result I didn't have much of an emotional attachment to BI's ending, which made it less interesting.
