He should focus on internal causes they can change, not blame external causes or competitor for bbeing too good or just better (unless it's unfair pratice in which case you prosecute).
What about bad relationship with devs, incompatible hw, lack of good enviroment, lack of investiment, bussiness strategy, etc??
We fan may complain Sony destroyed sega, ms ruined gaming or stole exclusives, etc... Companies need to solve their shit and compete not complain.
