Exclusives are not the only thing that drives sales, sorry but it isnt. I know at least 4 people who were Xbox users before and purchased a PS4 this time, some got Killzone, but they had never played it before. They mainly purchased games like BF4, COD and AC4... these were gamers through the whole of last gen on Xbox... they decided for various reasons to change.
The thing is, trying to pigeon hole everyone who buys a console by saying they are not buying because of the games. There is no way in hell you can check every single purchaser and get them to tell you that.. because its not true... its a false argument led by some people who are upset that their console of choice is selling worse than another console.
Many people buy a console for many different reasons it could be:
- Cost
- power
- Past experience
- preference
- Games
- Genres
- Features
So what I am saying is there are many reasons and games are just one of those reasons... so.... big deal.
Also many gamers these days dont care about metacritic, they might use reviews as an indication if they should buy day 1 or wait, but unless you are a sheep... you buy games that you feel you are interested in, and not what reviewers (some who are pretty odius and dodgy) decide which games you should play.
I got killzone, I purchased the others before, its got issue, for me its probably a 7 or low 8. But 7 or 8 is fine by me. It's 73 on Metacritic... so. Many Nintendo Games score very highly on certain sites, does that mean I have to buy them or want to play them. No I don't like nintendo games genres or styles, they are not for me. Reviews are just a gauge, they are not the be all and end all.
I am sure you liked Ryse, or perhaps you liked DR3... pretty much mixed reviews, but I aint going to sit here and say, no one is buying a console for Ryse it only scored 60 Metacritic. Are you saying "no one" would buy a XboxOne because of Ryse, because according to Metacritic its just above average.... but I know people on this site who purchased an XboxOne and some of their main reasons was because of Ryse.
Your argument is well and truely flawed. Yes people buy for various reasons, and games is one of those reasons... You cannot I'm afraid prove otherwise.
