Xbox Live gold has made Xbox very profitable.

The original Xbox and 360 OVERALL both lost MS money. So they were not profitable.

Thats awesome. Thats overall and is entirelty down to the first Xbox. And no Xbox Live. Obviously at the current profit rate since 2008 Xbox will be profitable by 2015? Xbox has not made a loss year since 2007. So currently Xbox is strong. And beating PS profit every year.

But all this means nothing. As the OP ws asking is Microsoft still a cashcow? Well my answer shows yes.

Xbox is CURRENTLY in profit, so that means Microsoft is a bigger cashcow now than before 2007 thanks to Xbox.
